[Case Study] Type Management Using UHF Band RFID Tags

We will introduce case studies of IC tags and labels that can be used on-site, which our company handles. At a certain casting parts manufacturer, RFID was introduced for mold management of large casting parts. Multiple molds and wooden patterns are combined to create a casting mold for the production of a single large casting part. Before the introduction of RFID, picking the necessary molds and wooden patterns from the mold warehouse was based on the experience of veteran workers, which often took time and resulted in picking errors, especially when less experienced workers were involved. However, with the introduction of RFID, even less experienced workers can now pick the necessary molds and wooden patterns accurately and quickly. 【Challenges Before Implementation】 ■ Picking Molds and Wooden Patterns - When less experienced workers are in charge, it takes time to search, and there are many picking errors. ■ Management of Mold and Wooden Pattern Locations - It is common for their whereabouts to become unknown due to being stored in the warehouse, in use, or under repair. ■ Usage History - There is no history of usage frequency, and there are no clear criteria for repair or disposal. ■ Inventory - Inventory is conducted once every six months, taking two days with dozens of people involved. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
